Yes, we secure and process organic grains. We are familiar with the unique requirements of the industry and our organic certification is from Quality Assurance International.Back to Top
Are your products Kosher?
Yes, we are certified Kosher and work very closely with the Kashruth Department of the Orthodox Union of Jewish Congregations of America.Back to Top
Are your products available to the non-food industry?
We specialize in grain-based processing. As a result, when grain-based ingredients are used in non-food applications we are able to participate. Our participation is generally driven by the high quality of our raw materials and the close tolerances of our processing standards.Back to Top

Yes, the majority of our work is custom focused. Most of our grain blends are processed to the unique specifications of our customers.Back to Top
Do you make non-custom blends?
Yes, we offer a specialty line of multigrain blends which are in essence "off the shelf." Often wholesale bakers use these blends because of their consistent performance and price competitiveness. The baked product differential is created in the marketplace by unique baking and processing.Back to Top

Yes, we offer several different types of bread toppings either based on white wheat flakes, red wheat flakes, or a various combination of seeds and grains.Back to Top

Are you affiliated with the Roman Meal Company or Roman Meal Milling Company?
Yes. And no. Originally, Dakota Specialty Milling was part of Roman Meal Company, the makers of Roman Meal Bread. Twenty years ago, we incorporated as an independent business under the name Roman Meal Milling Company.Back to Top
Why did you change your name to Dakota Specialty Milling?
As our company grew so did the confusion between Roman Meal Company and Roman Meal Milling Company. Our new name better reflects our identity and commitment to our customers. It also reflects our location in America's heartland and our direct access to the quality raw materials that are at the core of our manufacturing capabilities. The word "specialty" in our middle name was selected because it represents the true mission of our company and our ability to delivery customized products that meet all baking needs. .Back to Top
